Williams Rochdale Supports Young Talent14/03/2015
Williams Rochdale BMW and Williams Rochdale MINI provided a unique insight into a career in the motor industry at the Rochdale Skills Event on Wednesday 11 March.
Over 2,000 local students, many of whom had a keen desire to learn more about the motoring sector, were afforded an opportunity to meet employees from Williams Rochdale, who were on hand to engage with the inquisitive youngsters and advise on the varying career opportunities that are available within the diverse motor industry.
Former BMW Apprentice of the Year Andy Conroy who currently fulfils the role of Product Technician at the Rochdale-based retail centre was present to speak to the youngsters about his inspiring career with the BMW brand to date.
The enthusiastic students participated in an interactive seminar hosted by one of Williams Rochdale’s ‘Product Geniuses’ who provided comprehensive product information on the BMW 4 Series Convertible and MINI Countryman which took pride of place at the event.
Pupils were also given the chance to win a £30 iTunes voucher, if they correctly guessed the combined value of the two cars on show - which was no easy feat due to the complex specifications on each model.
The Rochdale Skills Event which took place at Heywood Distribution Park brought pupils together with business leaders and career advisers to give them the chance to get to grips with what they need to do to kick-start their careers in today’s highly competitive job market.
Service Manager at Williams Rochdale, Gary Taylor, commented: “The team thoroughly enjoyed the highly successful Rochdale Skills Event, as it represented a great opportunity to give the young local people of the future a taste of the careers available within our very dynamic and rewarding industry.
